Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese medical practitioners have been treating patients with acupuncture for more than three thousand years.  Now Western health practitioners recognize the effectiveness of this ancient treatment. Research has confirmed it effectively treats musculoskeletal pain, chronic headaches and arthritis – in some cases more effectively than standard Western treatments.

The science is in:  Acupuncture just works.

So how does it work? By gently activating acupuncture points to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissues, it initiates a process that helps the body achieve homeostasis and harmonize its energy. In addition to pain, among other things acupuncture is effective in addressing are hormone regulation, inflammation, stress and fatigue, chemical dependency, obesity and the unwanted effects of aging.

Symptoms and conditions acupuncture is effective in treating:

  • Musculoskeletal Pain (joint, back, neck, etc.)
  • Nausea
  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Anxiety/Depression/PTSD
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Infertility/PMS/PCOS/Dysmenorrhea
  • Male sexual dysfunction
  • Chemical dependency
  • Unwanted effects of aging
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Insomnia
  • Asthma
  • Chronic Fatigue

My approach to acupuncture is no different from a conventional physician’s approach to any evidence-based treatment modality. I start with what experience and literature has proven to be effective; I then take the next step and tailor that standard of care for each of my patients. I see it as my goal to make sure these treatments don’t just work in the abstract, but really work for you as an individual.
